Uzhunnu Vada




Ingredients

1)uzhunnu(Black grams)-11/2
2)Shallots/Onion-3/4 cup
3)Green chillies-3
4)Ginger-1 piece
5)Salt-to taste
6)Curry Leaves- chopped
7)Pepper-11/2 tsp
8)Potato-1(Boiled and smashed)
9)Oil- as reqd

Preparation

Soak the dal for 3-4 hrs. Grind the dal without water till it become a thick paste. Mix the smashed potato,shallots,greenchillies,ginger,salt,curry leaves and pepper. Heat oil in a Wok in medium flame. Shape the dough to a Donut shape or ring shape with the help of your palm. Now slip the shaped dough into the heated oil. Fry it till it turns to golden brown colour and drain it to a drainer. This can be served with coconut chutney.

Nan Khatai----- HAPPY X ' mas To All




I would like to have sweets than spicy snacks during my tea time so, accidently I came to watch NAN KHATAI from manjula's kitchen.com & I loved her other receipes too. This snack I had with my Seattle friends during our tea party.
 
Ingredients
  • All purpose flour -1/3cup
  • Sooji -1/3cup
  • Besan flour-1/2cup
  • Cardamom powder-1/4tsp
  • Sugar -2/3rd cup
  • Butter-1/2cup
  • Baking soda -pinch
  • Almonds sliced -1tbsp
  • Cashew nut sliced -1tbsp
Preparation

Mix all the flours along with cardamom powder. Beat the butter with the sugar & let it become fluffy. To this add the flour mix & make it to a dough. Then make lemon size balls & make designs as you wish using fork or knife & decorate with sliced almonds & cashews. Greece the cookie sheet with butter & place balls in it. Preheat the oven to 375 degree F & bake it for 12-15 minutes. Take out 7 keep it for cooling & have the crunchy NAN KHATAI with hot tea......

Traditional Bannana cake


Ingredients
  • Banana-3
  • Egg-2
  • sugar-3tbsp
  • Ghee-2tbsp
Preparation:-
 
Cut the banana into small cubes. Then saute the bannana cubes in ghee, when it becomes semi pulpy turn off the flame & keep it aside. Take a bowl mix both egg & sugar till sugar gets dissolved. To this add the semi pulpy bannana and mix well. Prepare like dosa or steam with a lid over it for 15 mins.
